BSQ – Primary Dear BSQ community, It is a pleasure to write the final newsletter of the academic year, though with a tinge of sadness knowing that it will be my last at BSQ. Let me again say thank you for your support over the last two years of my headship at the school. I also would like to thank the wonderful colleagues who have worked tirelessly at the school from the maintenance team, kitchen staff, cleaners, the administration team and the academic team who continually keep the school moving forward. A special mention and thanks to those team members moving on at the end of this year. Ms. Gerry Coiro, Ms. Renata Vasconez, Ms. Hannah Jones, Mr. Timothy Graves, Ms. Erica Sereni, Mrs. Jade Hutchinson, Mrs. Nicola Woollard, Mr. Paul Woollard and Mr. Tomos Prosser. Your contributions to the school will be remembered and your legacy will remain for many years to come. Now, back to business as usual. Congratulations to Year 1 on a successful trip to Mini City. The children had a wonderful time, and it was a great way to celebrate the end of the school year. Also, Year 6 had a wonderful time at Huasquila Lodge in the Amazon; a perfect way to end their time in the primary school. Finally, Early Years headed to Ukelele Plaza on Friday for their end of year trip, they had a great time. On Wednesday (June 26th), Year 6 families are invited into school at 1.30pm to watch the Year 6 primary leavers assembly. On Thursday (June 27th), Early Years families are invited to the EY awards ceremony at 9am. This will be followed by the primary awards ceremony at 11am. All members of the community are invited to the ceremonies but please note that the families of the students receiving the awards have already been informed. After the ceremonies, parents are welcome to take their children home with them. Thursday also marks the final day of the academic year for primary students. This term 3A students have been busy learning about Ansel Adams and his amazing photography. The students of 3A have been making a lot of Art and playing around with the concepts of light and dark. 3A created different artwork with charcoal, colored translucent paper and soon to create collages! Furthermore, all the students created their very own pinhole cameras! In Mathematics the 3A class is practicing their skills with counting, adding and subtracting money. Students went on a class trip to Mini City and used their newly learnt money skills to receive and pay for attractions. In Science and Topic, students are learning about different National Parks. All students are enjoying these classes and creating different fact files about their favorite National Park. BSQ – SecondaryDear BSQ Community, As we come to the close of another academic year, we reflect on the hard work and achievements of our students and staff. This week marks a transition from the rigor of exams and lessons to a more relaxed schedule, filled with celebrations, feedback, and preparation for the next steps. Here’s what you can expect for the final week: Monday - KS3 Progress Tests: Students in KS3 will sit for their progress tests in maths, science, and English. These tests are designed to assess their reasoning skills in these core subjects. - Recuperaciones: Some students will also participate in recuperaciones, with additional sessions continuing on Tuesday. - KS4 Mock Feedback: Feedback on mock exams will be provided to KS4 students, helping them understand their performance and areas for improvement. - Year 11 Core Subject IB: Year 11 students will have core subject sessions in EE, TOK and CAS related to the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. Tuesday - Class Celebrations and Feedback Sessions: A day of celebration and reflection, with various classes holding end-of-year celebrations and feedback sessions. - Cleaning Day: Students are reminded to bring an extra bag to collect their personal belongings. It’s essential to clear out lockers and classrooms, ensuring that all areas are left tidy. - Year 11 CAS Project: Year 11 students will be involved in their CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) project at Enrique Ponce Gangotena School. Wednesday - Rewards Trip: ALL students will enjoy a special rewards trip to the Cinema at Paseo San Francisco. - Farewell Assembly: We will hold a farewell assembly for Year 13 students and teachers who are leaving. This is a time to honor their contributions and wish them well in their future endeavors. Thursday - Awards Ceremony: Our annual awards ceremony will take place at 2 PM, celebrating the achievements of our students across various domains. This is the last day for all students. Friday - Supletorios: The day will start with supletorios in the morning for students needing to complete these additional exams. - Graduation Ceremony: At 6 PM, we will celebrate the graduation of our Year 13 students. This is a significant milestone and a momentous occasion for our school community. As we wrap up this academic year, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to all students, parents, and staff for their dedication and hard work. A special acknowledgment and gratitude to the team members who are departing at the end of this year: Mrs. Nadine Parker, Mr. Callum Butler, Mr. Stephen Armstrong, Mr. Keith Martin, and Ms. Cecilia Sanchez. León earned multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals, securing his place to represent the province of Pichincha in the upcoming national competitions. This achievement not only highlights his skill and dedication to the sport but also reflects the effort and commitment he has shown throughout his training and various competitions. We are confident that León will face very talented competitors at the next event, and we trust that he will represent our province with great pride and determination. BSQ – SecundariaEstimada comunidad BSQ, Al acercarnos al cierre de otro año académico, reflexionamos sobre el arduo trabajo y los logros de nuestros estudiantes y personal. Esta semana marca una transición del rigor de los exámenes y lecciones a un horario más relajado, lleno de celebraciones y preparación para los próximos pasos. Esto es lo que puede esperar para la última semana: Lunes - Pruebas de progreso de KS3: los estudiantes de KS3 se presentarán a sus pruebas de progreso en matemáticas, ciencias e inglés. Estas pruebas están diseñadas para evaluar sus habilidades de razonamiento en estas materias básicas. - Recuperaciones: Algunos estudiantes también participarán en recuperaciones, y las sesiones adicionales continuarán el martes. - Comentarios simulados de KS4: se proporcionarán comentarios sobre los exámenes simulados a los estudiantes de KS4, ayudándolos a comprender su desempeño y las áreas de mejora. - Materia básica IB del año 11: los estudiantes del año 11 tendrán sesiones de materias básicas en EE, TOK y CAS relacionadas con el programa de Bachillerato Internacional (IB). Es fundamental limpiar las taquillas y las aulas, asegurándose de que todas las zonas queden ordenadas. - Proyecto CAS de Year 11: Los alumnos de Year 11 participarán en su proyecto CAS (Creatividad, Actividad, Servicio) en el Colegio Enrique Ponce Gangotena. Miércoles - Paseo de recompensas: TODOS los estudiantes disfrutarán de un viaje de recompensas especiales al Cine en Paseo San Francisco. - Asamblea de Despedida: Realizaremos una asamblea de despedida para los alumnos y profesores de Year 13 que se van. Este es un momento para honrar sus contribuciones y desearles lo mejor en sus proyectos futuros. Jueves - Ceremonia de premios: nuestra ceremonia anual de premios se llevará a cabo a las 2 p. m. y celebrará los logros de nuestros estudiantes en varios ámbitos. Este es el último día para todos los estudiantes. Viernes - Supletorios: El día comenzará con supletorios por la mañana para los estudiantes que necesiten completar estos exámenes adicionales. - Ceremonia de Graduación: A las 6 PM celebraremos la graduación de nuestros alumnos de Year 13. Este es un hito importante y una ocasión trascendental para nuestra comunidad escolar. Al concluir este año académico, queremos expresar nuestro más sincero agradecimiento a todos los estudiantes, padres y personal por su dedicación y arduo trabajo. Un reconocimiento y gratitud especial a los miembros del equipo que partirán a finales de este año: Sra. Nadine Parker, Sr. Callum Butler, Sr. Stephen Armstrong, Sr. Keith Martin y Sra. León obtuvo múltiples medallas de oro, plata y bronce, asegurando así su clasificación para representar a la provincia de Pichincha en las próximas competencias nacionales.
Este logro no solo destaca su habilidad y dedicación en el deporte, sino que también refleja el esfuerzo y compromiso que ha demostrado a lo largo de su entrenamiento y en diversas competencias. Estamos seguros de que León enfrentará a competidores muy talentosos en el próximo evento, y confiamos en que representará a nuestra provincia con gran orgullo y determinación. ¡Felicitaciones, León, por este gran logro, nos sentimos muy orgullosos de ti!
