David Jones Principal BSQ – Primary Dear BSQ community, It gives me great pleasure and pride to write to you as the new Head of Primary. The short amount of time that I have spent at BSQ and in Quito has shown me what a wonderful decision it was to move here, I have felt truly welcomed by the community and cannot wait to meet more of you in the coming weeks. Therefore, the school day will finish at 1pm for students. Enrichment activities will begin shortly. To conclude, I wish you all success and happiness as we embark upon a new academic year. Lewis Hutchinson Head of Primary BSQ – Secondary The holidays are over and now the hard work begins. It has been lovely this week welcoming new and existing staff back to the campus for the induction activities to prepare everyone for the new academic year. I have been particularly encouraged by the speed with which everyone has developed relationships and formed into our happy and supportive family here at BSQ. The new team offer us all an extremely exciting year ahead and I am sure that you will take pleasure in joining me in welcome everyone back to school. Last year the year 11 and 13 students worked incredibly hard to meet the high expectations set by their teachers. Both cohorts have had huge challenges to deal with over the two years of their course. Let us not forget that critical exams were missed, and they spent the whole of the first year online. I am extremely proud of them all as the IB and IGCSE results have once again been outstanding with students achieving well above the global averages. This is testament to the hard work of the students but also the professionalism and determination of the teacher in getting them there. Please take a moment to read our amazing results: IB Results (Year 13) On all measures we exceeded global averages! Particular credit must go to the following students who achieved 41 points out of 45. This is a significant achievement and they each deserve the just reward for their tremendous hard work.
Again the number of students achieving the highest grades was significantly above the global and UK averages. This is a huge credit to the school, the students and the teachers who git them there. Particular credit must be given to the following students who achieved outstanding results:
Finally, the phased return of students has begun with year 12 and 13 arriving on Friday. Year 7 and 11 arrived on Monday and the rest of the school on Tuesday. The year ahead looks really exciting, and we all look forward to the challenges ahead. More to follow next week when I will share news of the first week of term. Please note that school will finish at 1pm on Wednesday the 24th as there will be no enrichment activities during the first week. Thank you for your support and understanding.
